People aren’t always awful. Sometimes, they’re maybe even just a little bit wonderful.
Yeah I think this is worth reblogging.

I never really get political around here, but this really bothers me.
Senator Kevin de Leòn of Los Angeles has decided to start a Senate Bill known as SB1315, which would make the sale and possession of any airsoft guns illegal.
Here’s a link to a news article, which explains it in a lot more detail:
http://www.examiner.com/article/california-looks-to-restrict-airsoft-users-2nd-amendment-at-risk-some-say
I don’t play airsoft, even though I have thought about it, but I do own quite a few airsoft guns. Now, you’re probably wondering why would someone who doesn’t play airsoft even own any guns at all. Because I use them in my photoshoots, and I also rent them through a prop service I have, as well.
So if you even own them just for that, you’ll be breaking the law.
Many airsoft guns are not only very cool looking and perfect for photoshoots and short films, but they’re also much easier to get than a real gun, and obviously safer.
Law enforcement officials are saying that it’s a safety issue and will protect officers. I agree that officers already have a tough job, but there is already regulation in California for airsoft guns. Do we really need to go to this extreme? Most of the time, the people that cause the problems are the ones that use airsoft guns for criminal activities, but the law abiding citizens will be the ones that pay the price.
But not only will this bill hurt photographers, small independent filmmakers and others, it will also put many people out of business. Many of the retailers are small businesses trying to live the American dream by owning their own business. Good people just trying to make an honest living.
One of those people is Raul of Airsoft X Sports. I have been purchasing airsoft guns from Raul for the past six years. He runs a booth at the Frank & Son Collectible Show in the City of Industry, and his main store is in Fullerton. He reminds me a lot of Wolfman Jack, very warm and friendly, and just one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He has always helped me out when it came to finding what I needed. He’s one of those people that is always willing to do whatever it takes to make his customers happy. If this bill passes, he’ll not only lose his business. He could lose his house, and everything else he has worked so hard for. Don’t let this happen to people like Raul.
Contact Senator Kevin de León. All you have to do is call his office and tell him no and to drop this bill. Tell him how it will hurt so many people and small businesses, and our state has much more pressing issues to focus on. We have people out of work, we have roads that need to be fixed, and so many other things that are much more important than this. If you disagree with the bill, please tell him so, and let him know that his views and opinions do not represent yours.
